Toyota's global production fell for the 10th consecutive month in November 2024. Meanwhile, its worldwide sales rose for the second straight month thanks to solid demand in the United States and China.
The world's largest automaker produced 869,230 vehicles globally in November, down 6.2% from a year earlier, more than the 0.8% decline in October.

Toyota's U.S. output fell 11.8%, recovering slowly despite production of its Grand Highlander and Lexus TX SUVs resuming in late October after a four-month shutdown.
Meanwhile, auto production in China fell 1.6%, however, still better than the 9% decline in the previous month, as Toyota saw higher sales of its Granvia and Sienna minivans as well as the bZ3 electric sedan jointly developed with BYD in the country.
Amid the rise of BYD and other Chinese brands, Toyota has decided to build an independent factory in Shanghai and start producing electric cars for its Lexus luxury brand around 2027.
In Japan, which accounts for about a third of Toyota's global output, vehicle deliveries fell 9.3% in November, also due to two-day production halts at the Fujimatsu and Yoshiwara plants.
Toyota's worldwide sales increased for the second consecutive month, rising 1.7% to 920,569 vehicles, setting a new record in November.
Toyota's global production for the January-November period was 5.2% lower than a year earlier at about 8.75 million vehicles, while global sales fell 1.2%. The production and sales figures include Toyota's Lexus-branded vehicles but exclude those of group companies Hino and Daihatsu.
