At the Dong Muon Cultural House, filled with the laughter and chatter of women practicing traditional ethnic songs, Ms. Dang Thi Hoa, one of the elderly people of Dong Muon residential group, shared: The economic life of the people has changed a lot, young people go out to work, but we still want to preserve the identity of the nation, want the children to learn the common language and still know their ethnic language.
Not only preserving their language and writing, Dong Muon people still maintain all the traditional lifestyles and customs of the Dao people. From costumes, funerals, weddings, dancing festivals, Cap Sac ceremonies… are still passed down to the younger generations. Through that, the younger generation is educated about human morality, about the rules of conduct in the community, and strengthens the relationship between the village and the neighborhood.
