The Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just sent a document to the Department of Finance regarding the proposal of the Sun Group Corporation to invest in projects in some areas of the city. Based on the investor's proposal, the Office of the City People's Committee requested the Department of Finance to consider and resolve according to its authority, in accordance with legal regulations and report the results to the City People's Committee.
In a document sent to the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and People's Committee, Sun Group said that it has recently coordinated with specialized consulting units to conduct field research and develop preliminary plans for a number of key infrastructure projects in the city.
This is a concrete step demonstrating the spirit of accompanying the city government in creating a synchronous and modern infrastructure system to serve sustainable development in the coming period.
In particular, Sun Group proposed that Ho Chi Minh City consider and create conditions for the group to research and invest in key social infrastructure and technical infrastructure projects under the public-private partnership (PPP) - BT (build-transfer) contract method.
Specifically, the group proposed to study and implement key social infrastructure projects in Thu Duc City (old) in the form of BT contracts with a counterpart mechanism of land fund and investment rights in Truong Tho Urban Area (about 147ha). These projects include Rach Chiec National Sports Complex with a scale of about 187ha and the National Historical - Cultural Park of about 395ha.
Next, Sun Group also proposed to study and implement a Saigon River road project with 8-10 lanes and a length of about 40km, and at the same time build a metro or tramway line along the Saigon River.
These two projects were also proposed by the enterprise to be implemented under the BT contract with a counterpart mechanism of land fund and investment rights in the land plots along the Saigon River in Cu Chi district (old) with a research area of about 4,100 hectares.
In addition to the above projects, Sun Group expressed its hope that Ho Chi Minh City will continue to accompany and support, and at the same time introduce more potential land funds so that the group can research, evaluate and propose suitable investment options.
The enterprise commits that, if selected as an investor in accordance with legal regulations, it will strive to implement projects to contribute to changing the urban landscape, improving the quality of life for people and promoting the socio -economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.
