The penalty decision was issued by Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6, Traffic Police Department on July 1, according to Article 5 of Decree 100/2019.

Working with the police, the female driver said that on the afternoon of June 10, she drove a pickup truck on the Nha Trang - Cam Lam highway in Khanh Hoa province. Because she was unfamiliar with the road, she turned the car around and drove more than two kilometers in the wrong direction.

According to the dash cam recorded by another car, even though she was driving in the wrong direction, the female driver kept flashing her headlights and driving at high speed.

The Nha Trang - Cam Lam Expressway, over 49 km long, through Khanh Hoa province, has 4 lanes without an emergency lane. The route was inaugurated on June 18, after a month of technical opening. Cars are allowed to travel at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, and a minimum speed of 60 km/h.
