Born in Dien Chau ( Nghe An ), but since childhood, Vu Van Tung and his family moved to Dak Lak to live. At that time, completing high school for students in the Central Highlands was not easy. However, with the encouragement of his family and teachers, student Vu Van Tung always tried his best with the dream of becoming a teacher in the future. Overcoming many difficulties, in 2005, Vu Van Tung graduated with a major in History from Da Lat University, and in 2007, he was recruited as a teacher in Gia Lai province.

In the early days of his assignment, Mr. Tung had to go to the fields to find students and convince their parents to let their children go to school. “I will always remember the time I went to persuade Dinh Duich’s family. Due to difficult circumstances and a large family, his parents let him drop out of school when he had just finished primary school. When he arrived at his house, his father flatly refused, asking me what he wanted to study for, where did he get the money to study... and then went straight into the forest. However, with all my sincerity, I finally convinced Dinh Duich’s parents to let him return to school,” Mr. Vu Van Tung shared.
In 2015, when he started working at Dinh Nup Primary and Secondary School, Mr. Tung noticed that at recess, many students went home to find food because they were hungry. From there, he came up with the idea of implementing the "0 Dong Bread Cabinet" project to give free bread to students. On the first day of delivering bread to school, after all the bread was given out, there were still many arms raised calling "teacher, teacher...". So Mr. Tung decided to use part of his salary to buy 200 loaves of bread every day to give to the students. Thanks to the kindness of teacher Vu Van Tung, now more than 200 disadvantaged students of Dinh Nup Primary and Secondary School are regularly supported with breakfast every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. “The breakfast menu is also being improved, it can be bread, dumplings, sticky rice with sausage, ham, eggs, meat... Hopefully this will motivate the children to continue trying on their journey to find letters...”, Mr. Tung expressed.
