- On August 8, the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion coordinated with the People's Committee of Cai Kinh commune to organize community activities on environmental protection, creating landscapes associated with the formation of a zero-carbon tourism village (net zero tourism) in Lan Nong Residential Area, Cai Kinh commune.
Participating in the activity were leaders of the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion; leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Cai Kinh commune; representatives of the commune's specialized departments, partners of the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark, volunteers, cadres, union members, youth and people of the commune.
The program started from Yen Son Heaven Gate, the participants went trekking (a hiking activity on complex natural terrain such as mountains, forests, valleys or plateaus). through the na valley, survey the fossil cemetery area; trekking the geological trail “Journey to the village named Happiness”.
On the trekking route, the group members checked in along the journey and at the typical areas of the route.
After arriving at Lan Nong residential area, the delegation members and local residents planted 1,500 bougainvillea trees along the village roads and at the fences of some households; participated in general cleaning of the stilt house space, collected garbage, cleaned the garden, created a clean and beautiful landscape; organized cultural and culinary exchanges, listened to people tell stories about history and traditional customs; exchanged ideas on preserving stilt house architecture and developing green tourism. At the same time, discussed the next plan such as: building a village gate, developing a 0 km culinary model, making environmentally friendly trash cans, building standard toilets to serve international tourists.
On this occasion, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Cai Kinh commune visited and presented 13 gifts to 13 families of Lan Nong Residential Area; at the same time, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center also awarded prizes to 3 families who cleaned the stilt houses and the most beautiful garden landscapes.
The program is part of a series of activities aimed at building a zero-carbon tourism village (net zero tourism), associated with environmental protection and sustainable development in the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark . This is a practical activity to spread awareness of preserving the living environment, while gradually realizing the model of a zero-carbon tourism village associated with preserving national cultural identity and developing sustainable tourism in the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark.
