In response to the request of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , Elementary Innovation Company - owner of the Temu platform - has temporarily stopped providing services in Vietnam.
The Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that it has worked with Elementary Innovation Company and requested it to take measures to comply with the legal regulations on e-commerce in Vietnam. Specifically, Elementary Innovation has temporarily stopped providing e-commerce services in Vietnam and does not use Vietnamese when providing services on the website Temu.com and the mobile application Temu.

The company has also submitted an application for registration of e-commerce service provision through the e-commerce management portal (online.gov.vn), the Department is in the process of reviewing it according to regulations. In addition, the company informs consumers that it is in the process of registering e-commerce service provision with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to recognize that this is a website and application that has not been licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and that they should be cautious when making transactions. For product and goods promotion programs of over 50% that do not comply with the legal regulations on trade promotion under Vietnamese law, the company must remove them. Temu also removes programs and models that call on users to participate in business to receive various bonuses and commissions in the Vietnamese market. Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade recommended that consumers absolutely do not conduct transactions with unregistered cross-border e-commerce platforms to ensure their legitimate rights and interests. In case the order has been paid for on the Vietnamese version of Temu but the goods have not been received, the consumer can cancel the order and request a refund for the previously placed order.
