At the inauguration ceremony of the third ring road in the capital Phnom Penh, Mr. Hun Sen shared: “I want to warn you that if my son is threatened, I will return to the position of Prime Minister. Only then will I decide who can become the next Prime Minister.”

According to Dap-news (Cambodia), Mr. Hun Sen hopes this will be a way to prevent the country from falling into chaos, as well as ensure the happiness of the people of this country.

Also on August 3, speaking on national television to the entire nation, the Cambodian Prime Minister announced that he would retire to transfer power to his son - General Hun Manet.

The royal decree appointing the new prime minister is expected to be announced on August 7 and Mr. Hun Sen will be dismissed on August 22.

On July 26, Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that he would step down after nearly 40 years in power and hand over the "throne" to his eldest son. The announcement by Mr. Hun Sen came after his Cambodian People's Party (CPP) won a "resounding" victory in the general election on July 23.

According to him - one of the world's longest-serving leaders, this change is the beginning of long-term stability, the foundation for Cambodia's development. After leaving the position of Cambodian Prime Minister, Mr. Samdech Techo Hun Sen will continue to participate in political activities.
