In its 100-year history of development, Ba Son Corporation (Ba Son Joint Enterprise) was the site of many revolutionary struggles, with the highlight being the strike on August 4, 1925 of the Ba Son Trade Union, led by comrade Ton Duc Thang, which had profound political and international significance. Throughout the resistance wars, Ba Son always played a key role in repairing, maintaining, building, and supplying ships for the navy, contributing to creating position and strength at sea, fighting for national liberation, unifying the country, and firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Entering the period of innovation, Ba Son Corporation boldly proposed many policies and measures to effectively implement the Party's innovation policy, promoting cooperation with domestic and foreign partners and customers. Ba Son Corporation has successfully completed the task of building many series of modern military ships, marking a major breakthrough for the Vietnamese shipbuilding industry in accessing and transferring technology to build modern combat ships to serve the Army; at the same time, affirming the ability, intelligence and creativity of Ba Son soldiers and workers in the new period.

The production and business targets for the period 2020 - 2025 of Ba Son Corporation have a high growth rate, an average of more than 150%. The Corporation effectively implements scientific work, initiatives, and technical improvements with 22 topics, tasks, 189 initiatives, and technical improvements contributing to improving productivity, product quality, and high technology content. The Corporation's expected revenue in 2025 will reach more than 2,000 billion VND, with an average income of over 19 million VND/person/month in the first 6 months of 2025.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Colonel Mai Quoc Truong, General Director of Ba Son Corporation, said: The Corporation currently has thousands of advanced and modern technological equipment, along with port works and lifting equipment to be able to receive ships with a capacity of up to 150,000 DWT, and the capacity to build new ships with a capacity of up to 12,500 DWT. The Corporation has also expanded into many new fields and industries of production and business such as: Global logistics services, manufacturing of super-sized and super-heavy structures for renewable energy projects, wind power, offshore oil and gas. In particular, from 2022 to present, the Corporation has made breakthroughs in international cooperation, exporting products to large corporations around the world.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam congratulated and praised the great achievements and remarkable growth of Ba Son Corporation in recent times. At the same time, he requested the corporation to continue to thoroughly grasp, seriously and effectively implement the policies and guidelines of the Party, State and Army on the development of the defense industry, combining the economy with defense; perform well the function of the production labor force, maintain and organize production and business to achieve high efficiency and in accordance with the law. In addition, actively innovate, create, improve management and administration capacity, promote internal resources, exploit all potentials and advantages, and perform well in corporate governance.

Ba Son Corporation needs to proactively build a development strategy to meet immediate and long-term requirements; promote the spirit of innovation, improve research, design, and construction capacity of modern military ships, gradually master core technology, and proactively integrate deeply into the global defense industry chain. The Corporation coordinates to promote trade, effectively serve military and defense tasks, implement corporate culture well, maintain prestige and brand, and gain customer trust; strengthen international cooperation, maintain infrastructure and technology capacity, expand markets, ensure good jobs, income, and improve the lives of cadres, employees, and workers.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam also noted that Ba Son Corporation needs to focus on building high-quality human resources, especially good engineers and skilled technicians in the fields of research, design, manufacturing, repair, and shipbuilding, especially military ships. At the same time, there should be appropriate policies and mechanisms to attract and effectively use high-quality staff and skilled technical workers to meet the requirements and tasks of national defense development and the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country in the new period.

At the ceremony, Ba Son Corporation was honored to receive the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal. The Corporation also received the Traditional Flag and Certificate of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; and a souvenir from the Head of the General Department of Defense Industry.
