According to document No. 961 issued on December 19 on personnel work at PVEP signed by Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVN Le Manh Hung, the Board of Members of PVN resolved to agree on the policy on personnel work of PVEP.

Specifically, Mr. Nguyen Thien Bao will resign from the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVEP to be appointed as General Director of PVEP. This position will be completed simultaneously with the position of Deputy Secretary of the PVEP Party Committee.

At the same time, PVN mobilized and appointed Mr. Truong Quoc Lam, PVN's chief of office, to assume the position of chairman of PVEP, at the same time completing the position of PVEP Party Secretary.

Thus, after only 6 months of holding the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVEP from July 1, 2024 to present, Mr. Nguyen Thien Bao has left this position and assumed the role of General Director. Previously, Mr. Nguyen Thien Bao held the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy General Director of PVEP.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Bao (born in 1971, in Hanoi ) has held many important positions such as Deputy Director of Petroleum Investment and Development Company (PIDC), Deputy General Director of PVEP, General Director of PVcomBank, and Deputy General Director in charge of finance of PVEP.

Mr. Truong Quoc Lam has assumed the position of Chief of Office of PVN since September 2022. Mr. Lam has held many positions at the group such as Deputy General Director of PVI Joint Stock Company (PVI Holdings), Head of the Group's Economic - Investment Department.

Complete the 2024 mining output target

Since early December, PVEP has completed its 2024 production targets, finishing nearly a month early, marking the 15th consecutive year of completing these important production targets.

This year, PVN assigned PVEP to achieve the production target of 3.05 million tons of oil equivalent. This is considered a huge challenge for PVEP when facing many disadvantages.

That is the fluctuation of supply - demand and prices of energy products are affected by difficulties due to the fact that key mines are in a period of sharp decline, investment in new projects is still stuck, low gas consumption demand affects gas sales output...

By December 4, PVEP had reached the milestone of 2.05 million tons of oil production, 28 days ahead of schedule; 1 billion m3 of gas sales on December 1, 30 days ahead of schedule; and 3.05 million tons of oil equivalent production in 2024 on December 3, 29 days ahead of schedule. Previously, PVEP had also reached the 2024 total revenue target 3 months ahead of schedule.
