According to some sources, Toyota is in the process of completing a completely new pickup line, using a unibody frame structure similar to crossover models instead of a separate frame like traditional pickup lines.
The model is aimed at young urban users who are looking for a “lifestyle” vehicle that is compact, easy to use in the city but still meets the needs of carrying light items or going on weekend picnics.

Although Toyota has not officially announced any images or detailed information, the digital rendering by artist Theottle has partly revealed the design of the new model: compact, modern, friendly and easy to use, completely different from the traditional large, angular pickup models.
The car is expected to be smaller than the RAV4 - the company's current C-class crossover model and could be built on the TNGA-K platform (used for RAV4, Camry) or TNGA-C (used for Corolla, C-HR).

In particular, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of this model can reach a pure electric driving distance of up to 100 km. This will be a great advantage for Toyota as consumers are increasingly interested in fuel-saving and environmentally friendly options, in the context of increasing fuel costs and emission reduction requirements in many markets.
Toyota, with more than 25 years of experience developing hybrid technology, is considered a name with enough capacity to compete directly. The company's preparation to launch a small PHEV pickup truck can be seen as a strategic move to regain market share from Ford, while expanding its product portfolio towards urban consumers.

It is highly likely that Toyota will produce the new hybrid pickup truck in the US market and then export it back to Japan. With trade barriers between the two countries gradually being removed and logistics costs becoming increasingly competitive, this scenario is considered completely feasible.
In addition, Toyota President Akio Toyoda has repeatedly emphasized the strategy of "making cars for the local market in that market" while expanding global influence by exporting from key production centers. If implemented, this would be a rare time for Toyota to reverse its supply chain from the US to Asia - a new direction in the company's global strategy.

If it goes on sale, it could be the most fuel-efficient pickup truck Toyota has ever produced. As the Japanese automaker tries to emphasize its value proposition of durability, low ownership costs, and practicality, the new hybrid pickup will be a blend of tradition and modern consumer trends.
