Paying tribute to the heroic martyrs of U Minh Regiment 1

On the morning of July 27, at the Temple of Heroic Martyrs of U Minh 1 Regiment (Hung Phu Ward, Can Tho City), the Veterans Liaison Committee of U Minh 1 Regiment (Military Region 9) held a ceremony to celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs of the Heroic U Minh 1 Regiment.

At the ceremony, Major General Tran Vinh Quang, former Political Commissar of Military Region 9, former Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs , Head of the Veterans Liaison Committee of U Minh Regiment, reviewed the heroic tradition of our army and people fighting against invading forces.

During the resistance war, millions of party members, cadres, soldiers and patriotic people fought bravely, sacrificed, or were injured for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.

Among the nation's elite children, there are more than 5,000 officers and soldiers of U Minh Regiment 1 who sacrificed their lives and thousands of wounded comrades still carry many wounds...

To show gratitude, on the occasion of July 27 this year, the Veterans Liaison Committee of U Minh Regiment 1, with the support of benefactors, organized a celebration, with gifts sent to the families of martyrs and wounded soldiers who worked and fought in the U Minh Regiment 1.

On behalf of the Veterans Liaison Committee of U Minh Regiment 1, Major General Tran Vinh Quang expressed his gratitude to the heroic martyrs, martyrs' families, wounded comrades, and those who contributed to the revolution, who made many sacrifices for the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and built the glorious tradition of U Minh Regiment 1.

At the same time, I hope that war invalids, families of martyrs, and people with revolutionary contributions will continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, overcome all difficulties, build their homeland, and their families to have an increasingly prosperous and happy life.

At the ceremony, the Veterans Liaison Committee of U Minh Regiment 1 presented 127 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to wounded soldiers and families of martyrs.
