Chien Thang Driving Training and Testing Center in Can Tho was hacked and only stored data records of the driving tests from February 19, 2024 to present.
The Inspectorate of the Can Tho Department of Transport has just concluded an inspection on compliance with legal regulations on training and testing of car drivers at the Chien Thang Vocational Training and Testing Center for Drivers (Cai Rang District, Can Tho City).

The conclusion shows that this center has organized basic driving training according to regulations in decrees, circulars and related units.
Notably, the inspection conclusion indicated that the center currently only stores records and data of examinations from February 19, 2024 to present. Courses from January 16, 2024 and courses in 2023 are not stored due to hacker attacks.
The Department of Transport Inspectorate said that the center promptly reported to the management unit for coordination in handling. Specifically, on May 29, 2024, the center sent a written report on the information security incident when it was attacked by hackers to the Department of Vehicle and Driver Transport Management (Can Tho Department of Transport) for coordination in handling.
Speaking to Giao thong Newspaper reporters, the leader of the Department of Vehicle and Driver Management said that after receiving the report from the center, the unit contacted the IT department of the Road Administration for instructions on how to handle the situation. Afterwards, the unit's specialists restored the lost data, without interrupting training and testing activities.
