Tonight, August 1, the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced the verification of international certificates submitted by candidates in 2025 on the Ministry of Education and Training system. The school warned that candidates must be responsible for the authenticity of the certificates.
Verify international certificates until 5:00 p.m. on August 4
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Khoi - Head of University Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, on July 31, the school's admissions council officially received full data on supplementing international certificates on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training.
However, the candidate's data on the system is unclear, incomplete, and even the certificate is not qualified. Therefore, the school has reviewed and made a list of 266 candidates who need to provide information to verify international certificates.
To ensure fairness and transparency for candidates, the school requests that candidates whose names are on the list, from August 1 to August 4, must provide information for the school to authenticate certificates in one of the following three forms:
Submit certified copies of international certificates directly to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Submit certified copies of international certificates by post (express, priority).
Provide account information and login information of candidates when taking IELTS/TOEFL IBT/SAT certificate exams.
Candidates fill in the information so that the school can verify at the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/W3f8ZdBCpP?origin=lprLink (the link will automatically lock at 5:00 p.m. on August 4).
Working hours from 8am to 5pm (including Saturday and Sunday).
For applications submitted by post, candidates must send early and ensure the school receives them before 5:00 p.m. on August 4. The school will not process applications received after 5:00 p.m. on August 4.
Certificate receiving location: University Training Department - University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, 217 Hong Bang, Cho Lon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
Candidates must provide complete and accurate evidence so that the admissions board has a basis for calculating bonus points. Candidates are responsible for the authenticity of the evidence.
In case the candidate does not provide sufficient evidence as per the announced requirements, the points will not be added to the admission score. The school's Admissions Council will not resolve complaints if the candidate does not comply with the announced regulations.
315 candidates were found to not meet the threshold requirements for bonus points.
Previously (June 18), the school issued a notice requiring candidates to submit certified copies of international certificates directly to the school or send them by post. The school will not process applications sent after 5:00 p.m. on July 18.
"However, later, the Ministry of Education and Training allowed candidates to submit additional international certificates on the ministry's common system. Therefore, now the school must verify the international certificates that candidates have submitted on the ministry's system," Mr. Khoi added.
At the same time, through inspection, the school discovered that up to 315 candidates did not meet the requirements for the threshold to be awarded points (candidates with IELTS Academic 6.0 or higher/TOEFL iBT 80 or higher; candidates with international SAT certificates from 1,340 points or higher. The international certificate is valid for 2 years from the test date to the deadline for receiving the international certificate according to the school's admission announcement).
According to regulations of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in 2025, candidates with international certificates will receive extra points (for all training majors).
The school uses the results of international certificates converted into bonus points in the admission process. Bonus points are only calculated when candidates have submitted certified copies of international English certificates (IELTS/TOEFL iBT), SAT results as prescribed and meet the requirements for bonus points.
The information on the international certificate must completely match the information related to the candidate. The school will not resolve cases of information discrepancy.
+ IELTS/TOEFL iBT English certificate: candidates submit directly or by express delivery, priority given to post;
+ SAT certificate: candidates submit directly to the university training department.
On the day of application submission, candidates provide login information to their College Board student account for the school to verify.
IELTS certificate issuing unit: + British Council (BC); + International Development Program (IDP). TOEFL IBT certificate issuing unit: Educational Testing Service (ETS).
After receiving the copies of IELTS international English certificates sent by post from candidates in the above batch, through inspection, the school also discovered that some candidates sent photocopies of IELTS international English certificates that were not certified or did not meet the requirements for the threshold to be awarded points.
