Minimum score for admission to the microchip design engineering program is 24 points.
On July 11, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education issued a notice to supplement and adjust information on regular university admissions in 2025. Notably, the school added rules for converting equivalent scores, entrance thresholds and admission scores of admission methods. Rules for converting equivalent scores or equivalent benchmark scores between admission methods and combinations according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, will be announced before July 23.
The entrance threshold (the threshold to ensure the entrance quality or also known as the admission floor score) is the minimum requirement for learning ability shown in learning results, exam results, and assessments for candidates to be able to study and complete the school's training program. The entrance threshold is converted between admission methods and equivalent admission combinations according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, announced before July 23.

Accordingly, students of university-level legal training programs must meet the following requirements: have graduated from high school or equivalent; the total admission score must be at least 60% of the maximum assessment score of the scale; the score of math and literature or math or literature in the admission combination must be from 6 points or higher.
The training program for microchip design engineering (in the field of electronic and telecommunications engineering) is implemented according to the Decision promulgating the training program standards on semiconductor microchips at the university and master's levels. Accordingly, students of this training program at the university level must meet specific requirements. Admission method is based on high school exam scores and academic records, the math subject in the combination must be from 8 points or higher, the total of subjects in the combination must be from 24 points or higher. Admission method is based on the test score to assess the candidate's ability, the math subject in the test to assess the candidate's ability must be from 240 points or higher. The total score of the 3 parts of the math, scientific thinking, and English test must be from 720 points or higher.
Adjusting enrollment targets for many majors
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education also adjusted the admission combination for 2 majors. In particular, the training program of microchip design engineering (under the major of electronics and telecommunications engineering technology), the school removed the combination of math-literature-English. In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education will enroll students in 5 ways: direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; priority admission according to the school's enrollment plan; considering the 2025 high school graduation exam scores; considering high school study results; considering the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test scores. The university's admissions council has just decided to recognize the list of qualified candidates for direct admission to the regular university level in 2025.
