Posthumous promotion of four soldiers

On the afternoon of June 11, General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security , signed a decision to posthumously promote the ranks of four commune police officers and soldiers who died in the gun attack on the police headquarters of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province.

The Minister of Public Security decided to posthumously promote the rank of soldier Hoang Trung (born in 1981, from Nghi Loc, Nghe An, a police officer of Ea Ktur commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province) from Captain to Major; posthumously promote the rank of soldier Nguyen Dang Nhan (born in 1994, from Yen Thanh, Nghe An, a police officer of Ea Ktur commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province) from Captain to Major; posthumously promote the rank of soldier Tran Quoc Thang (born in 1989, from Thach Ha, Ha Tinh, a police officer of Ea Tieu commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province) from Captain to Major; posthumously promote the rank of soldier Ha Tuan Anh (born in 1991, from Trieu Son, Thanh Hoa, a police officer of Ea Tieu commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province) from Captain to Major.

At the same time, on the afternoon of June 11, Minister To Lam, Chairman of the Management Board of the People's Police Comradeship Fund, signed a decision to support 100 million VND/family for the families of four officers and soldiers of Cu Kuin District Police, Dak Lak Province who died while performing their duties; support 50 million VND/soldier for two officers of Cu Kuin District Police who were injured while performing their duties, Senior Lieutenant Dam Dinh Bop (born in 1993, Deputy Head of Ea Ktur Commune Police) and Captain Le Kien Cuong (born in 1988, officer of Ea Ktur Commune Police).

Earlier, early in the morning of the same day, in Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province, a group of people used guns to attack the police headquarters of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes, killing and injuring a number of commune police officers, commune officials and residents...

The Ministry of Public Security has directed Dak Lak Provincial Police and professional units to deploy to arrest the above mentioned group of subjects.

As of 4:30 p.m. on June 11, the police force had arrested 16 subjects and rescued 2 hostages. The third citizen freed himself.

Currently, the authorities are determined to capture the remaining subjects.
