Vietnam women's volleyball team won the first match in the second stage of SEA V.League 2025

On the evening of August 8, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won their first match against the Philippines, in the opening match of the second leg of SEA V.League 2025.

Entering the match, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team continuously scored points with the serve of Tran Thi Thanh Thuy. The Philippines appeared quite overwhelmed, not taking the first step well - especially in the position of main striker Angel Canino, who later had to give up his position to Shaina Nittura.

However, Alas Pilipinas' game did not improve beyond the bright spot of Dell Palomata, the Vietnamese team raced to the finish line and had a resounding 25-14 victory in set 1.

In set 2, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet experimented and rotated his players, causing the Vietnamese women's team to lose their dominance as before, even allowing the Philippines to take the lead at times.

Bich Thuy's brilliance and the return of Bich Tuyen to the field in the final points helped Vietnam to equalize and compete with the Philippines, continuously saving set-points and then taking the lead to win narrowly 30-28, leading 2-0.

In the third set, the Philippines continuously made mistakes, allowing the Vietnamese women's team to score. In the following minutes, the Philippines regained their composure and continuously scored points, forcing coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet to consult. After the adjustments by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, the Vietnamese women's team easily ended the third set with a score of 25-22, thereby winning 3-0 against the Philippines.
