Support Palestine, need to immediately end the conflict in the Gaza Strip

Euro News television network reported that on September 13, representatives of European, Arab and Muslim countries met in Madrid, Spain, to discuss a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli issue, as well as promote an end to the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting on the two-state solution was attended by Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, and the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Norway, Qatar, Turkey and Egypt.

Speaking here, Spanish Foreign Minister Albares emphasized that the event aims to "promote a common voice of European, Arab and Muslim countries around the implementation of the two-state solution", enhancing coordination towards meetings that will decide the future of the region in the coming weeks.

According to him, the participants of this meeting have a “clear desire to turn words into actions, to make progress towards a clear timeline for the effective implementation” of the two-state solution.

Mr. Albares also urged an immediate end to the conflict in the Gaza Strip, saying there was no reason to continue delaying the agreement and prolonging the suffering of millions of innocent Palestinian civilians.

In addition, the goal of achieving a ceasefire – which would allow for the immediate release of hostages and allow for the “immediate and unhindered” delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza – is urgent.

Expressing his full support for the Palestinian Authority as well as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the Spanish Foreign Minister emphasized that this is the organization participating in key humanitarian activities in Gaza in the current period and in the coming years.

Spain also wants to promote an international peace conference with the participation of the parties under the auspices of the United Nations, because if the parties do not want or cannot achieve peace , the United Nations must fulfill its responsibilities and move forward.
