The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just officially issued a Decision approving the Plan to organize "Supporting research, restoration, preservation and promotion of intangible culture of ethnic minorities at risk of extinction" under the National Target Program on Socio -economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas in 2025 of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

Accordingly, in the second and third quarters of 2025, the program will preserve folk songs and folk music of the Gie Trieng ethnic group (Dak Duc commune, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province); research and preserve folk songs and folk music of the Raglai ethnic group (Khanh Son district, Khanh Hoa province); research and preserve performing arts in the worship of Arak - the guardian deity of families and communities of the Khmer ethnic group (Tan Loc commune, Thoi Binh district, Ca Mau province).

Next, in the third and fourth quarters of 2025, the organization will conduct research, preserve, restore, and recreate the Cap sac ritual of the Dao people in Ho Thau commune, Hoang Su Phi district, Ha Giang province.

The plan aims to preserve and promote the traditional culture of ethnic minorities in association with local tourism development; effectively promote investment resources of the state, society and community in the work of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in the provinces of Ha Giang, Kon Tum, Khanh Hoa and Ca Mau.

The program also aims to strengthen national unity, especially among young people through diverse activities such as: cultural activities, teaching folk songs, folk dances, teaching traditional crafts, cultural rituals imbued with the identity of each ethnic group; creating conditions for the community to exchange, have healthy entertainment from their traditional cultural values.

Thereby raising awareness of the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, promoting the role of cultural capacity of artisans, village elders, village chiefs, prestigious people and ethnic minorities in ethnic minority areas in the current period./.
