“If you buy lottery tickets at noon, you have to buy lottery tickets for the next day, because many people buy lottery tickets during Tet, so you have to buy them early,” said Mr. Khanh.
At the beginning of the new year, many businesses organize year-end parties, many people buy lottery tickets to give to each other instead of giving lucky money, so lottery ticket sellers sell out quickly. Mr. Binh, who sells lottery tickets in Ninh Kieu district, said that every house that organizes a party sells out, some people buy 150 tickets but there are no more to sell.
Every day, Mr. Trung Hieu's lottery agent in Cai Rang district gives 10,500 lottery tickets to street vendors. The street vendors sell all the tickets by noon and then sell out for the next day.
Mr. CN - the owner of a lottery agency in Vi Thanh city ( Hau Giang province) - confirmed that his agency sold 100% of its lottery tickets during Tet. "If you buy lottery tickets in the afternoon, they will be sold out by evening. Street vendors buy lottery tickets 2-3 days in advance to have enough to sell," Mr. N happily said.
Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , a leader of Can Tho Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. said that the company has issued two lottery tickets for the Lunar New Year with sales of 150 billion VND/ticket, and the consumption rate reached 100%.
During Tet, the Southern lottery increased its sales in 4 rounds with 15 million tickets/round. The increase in sales includes 1 round before Tet and 3 rounds after Tet, from January 22 to February 18 (December 23 to January 21).
