Why is it difficult for new graduates to find jobs?

Analyzing the current situation of students having difficulty finding jobs, Associate Professor Ngo Van Gia, former head of the Faculty of Journalism, Hanoi University of Culture, shared that there are many reasons why students struggle to find jobs after graduation. Among them, three important reasons affect students' ability to find jobs.

Firstly, you lack skills and work experience. You should practice and learn this yourself during your studies at university.

Second, students are often shy and hesitant to interact with teachers. Teachers will create conditions, guide them to work places, and help them contact to apply for part-time jobs. This is the foundation for them to have higher opportunities in the future.

In addition, in his view, universities and businesses play an increasingly important role in improving the quality and effectiveness of training, meeting the employment needs of students. Universities need to expand cooperation with businesses. Students who are still in school can also be given priority and participate in supporting work with businesses.

What do students need to prepare?

Currently, businesses are in great need of students who can communicate and handle work effectively. During interviews, employers often ask many situational questions to assess the qualities of each candidate. In addition to classroom theory, students should boldly participate in extracurricular activities, because it will help students a lot when applying for jobs later.

At the same time, you need to show the employer a progressive spirit and a willingness to learn. Fear of making mistakes, being afraid to ask questions… will be a big barrier to developing skills and future work. Candidates with a positive attitude will gain great sympathy from the employer.

Vietnam is in the process of integration and development. Therefore, to apply for jobs in domestic or foreign enterprises, new graduates need to have good foreign language skills. When you are fluent in a foreign language, you will be more confident when demonstrating your abilities to employers.

Therefore, students need to proactively research and learn the skills that employers expect in order to have a suitable job position in an increasingly competitive labor market.
