Vietnam-Mongolia sign Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations.

Recently, within the framework of the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Mongolia, General Secretary and President To Lam and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung and Mongolian Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Nomin Chinbat contributes to the implementation of the Comprehensive Partnership, aiming to orient the deep trust cooperation between the two countries in all fields to become increasingly in-depth, substantive, effective and comprehensive, creating a breakthrough development in the coming period, including the fields of culture and tourism.

The main contents of the Memorandum of Understanding include information exchange, research, training, human resource development, cooperation between tourism organizations as well as related businesses of the two countries, organizing seminars, supporting participation in events, tourism fairs... held in each country;

Encourage cooperation and investment between government tourism organizations as well as related businesses; facilitate tourism cooperation as well as agents, travel businesses, hotels, and passenger transport companies;

Encourage information exchange in the field of tourism; cooperate in research, training and human resource development in the field of tourism, exchange of lecturers, students, researchers, experts, organize seminars... and general regulations on principles of some related issues when implementing the Memorandum of Understanding.

This Memorandum of Understanding is a necessary basis for framework cooperation between the two Parties in the fields of research, development, introduction and promotion of tourism in each country.

Following the “Go Monglia” event organized by Mongolia in April 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and the possibility of opening a direct flight route between Ho Chi Minh City and Ulaanbaatar in November 2024 will attract tourists from both countries to travel to each other, continuing to demonstrate the growing tourism cooperation between the two countries.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations, opening up greater potential for cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, affirming that the traditional friendship is increasingly focused on expanding, strengthening and consolidating.

In addition, tourism cooperation contributes to increasing the number of visitors exchanged between the two countries, creating positive impacts on the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Mongolia in other fields such as economy, investment, and people-to-people exchange.
