(VTC News) - According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the extradition of Y Quynh Bdap to Vietnam is appropriate, to ensure that all criminals are handled according to the law.
On October 17, answering a reporter's question about Vietnam's stance on the Thai Court's decision to extradite terrorist Y Quynh Bdap to Vietnam, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized that Y Quynh Bdap was the person who directly recruited, incited, and carried out the June 11, 2023 terrorist attack in Dak Lak, which caused serious consequences. According to Ms. Pham Thu Hang, Y Quynh Bdap was tried and sentenced to 10 years in prison by the People's Court of Dak Lak Province for terrorism.

"The extradition of Y Quynh Bdap to Vietnam is appropriate, to ensure that all criminals are handled according to the law. Vietnamese authorities will continue to coordinate with Thai authorities to handle the case according to the laws of the two countries," the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson added.
The terrorist attack on June 11, 2023 in Dak Lak was a horrific event, identified as an organized terrorist act, caused by subjects with brutal and barbaric behavior. The prosecution agencies of Dak Lak province concluded that this attack was directed from the outside, with the leader being Y Quynh Bdap, who founded the terrorist organization Montagnards for Justice (MSFJ). Y Quynh Bdap had planned it since 2017, through connecting, attracting, and recruiting forces. During the investigation, many subjects participating in the attack confessed to Y Quynh Bdap's role in directing and inciting them to carry out these brutal acts. Y Quynh Bdap also asked the subjects to film videos and take photos of the attack activities for international propaganda. Notably, Y Quynh Bdap was arrested in 2012 for violating the law but was exempted from criminal prosecution due to Vietnam's lenient policy. However, Y Quynh Bdap continued to commit illegal acts, illegally crossed the border into Thailand, and continued to lead the terrorist organization, leading to the bloody attack in June 2023. In January 2024, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Court sentenced Y Quynh Bdap to 10 years in prison for "Terrorism", and a special wanted notice was issued for him. The other subjects involved in the attack have also expressed remorse for their actions, clearly aware of the devastation they have caused to their families and society.
