With this result, Vietnam was ranked in the EGDI group at the "very high" level for the first time and rose to its highest ranking since it began participating in the United Nations EGDI assessment in 2003. In the 2024 E- Government Development Index (EGDI) rankings, Vietnam ranked 71st out of 193 United Nations member countries, up 15 places compared to 2022. In Southeast Asia alone, Vietnam ranked 5th out of 11, up 1 place compared to the 2022 assessment. Previously, Vietnam maintained its ranking of 86th out of 193 in the two assessments in 2020 and 2022. With this result, Vietnam was ranked in the EGDI group at the "very high" level for the first time and rose to the highest ranking since it began participating in the United Nations EGDI assessment in 2003.
