On the morning of July 23, Bac Ninh Club announced its new head coach Paulo Foiani. The team with Coach Park Hang Seo as advisor has officially signed a contract with the Brazilian strategist to increase its competitiveness in the 2025-2026 National First Division.
"Bac Ninh Club respectfully welcomes Mr. Paulo Foiani - a talented coach from Brazil - to officially take on the role of head coach of the team. Coach Foiani is expected to bring a new breath of life to Bac Ninh from tactics, playing style to fighting spirit," Bac Ninh Club announced on its homepage.
In fact, Mr. Paulo Foiani is not a famous coach, having only led a few teams competing in the lower leagues of Brazil. He also had no notable achievements before coming to Vietnam.
Coach Paulo Foiani, born in 1976 in Brazil, is the former head coach of the Hanoi Police Club in V-League 2023. He is the first foreign coach of the police team when it was promoted to play in the highest professional tournament in Vietnam. However, he was quickly fired after only 7 matches at the beginning of the season.
Before appointing coach Paulo Foiani, Bac Ninh had invited coach Hoang Anh Tuan. But the club quickly fired him after only a few matches in the 2025 Second Division.
After completing the goal of promotion to professional level, Bac Ninh Club has increased the strength of the squad by inviting foreign coaches and recruiting higher-level players. Mr. Paulo Foiani is currently the only foreign coach in the First Division.
