3 people fined for fabricating information about the attack on the commune headquarters in Dak Lak

On June 14, information from the Internal Political Security Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police said that this unit has just issued a decision to impose an administrative fine of a total of 15 million VND on two people, Mr. QC (residing in Vu Quang District, Ha Tinh) and Ms. HT (residing in Ha Tinh City) for providing and sharing fabricated information about the attack on the commune headquarters in Dak Lak.

Specifically, on June 11 and 12, Mr. QC and Ms. HT used their personal Facebook accounts to post and comment with distorted and fabricated content about the attack on the commune People's Committee headquarters in Dak Lak . At the police station, Mr. C. and Ms. T. admitted their wrongdoings.

The Internal Political Security Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police has decided to fine Mr. C. and Ms. T. VND 7.5 million each for providing and sharing fabricated information, causing panic among the people.

Previously, on June 13, Cam Xuyen District Police (Ha Tinh) also issued a decision to administratively fine Mr. HXD (31 years old, residing in Cam Duong Commune, Cam Xuyen District) 7.5 million VND for providing fake information, false information, distorting, slandering, and insulting the reputation of agencies, organizations, honor, and personal dignity.

Mr. HXD was administratively fined 7.5 million VND.

Mr. D. was identified as using his personal Facebook account to comment with false content, insulting the reputation of the people's police force under an article reporting on the attack on the commune headquarters in Dak Lak.

Ha Tinh Provincial Police advise social media users to absolutely not post, comment, or share unverified, false, fabricated, or distorted information. Posting false information on social media that causes public confusion will be handled according to the law and if it causes serious impacts or consequences, it may be subject to criminal prosecution.
