Recently, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the list of teams participating in the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26. Al Nassr, the team where superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is playing, is the representative of Saudi Arabia in this arena. Meanwhile, the two leading representatives of this country's football, Al Hilal and Al Ittihad, have won the right to participate in the AFC Champions League Elite.
On the Vietnamese side, the two participating teams are Nam Dinh and CAHN. Nam Dinh participates in the tournament as the 2024/25 V.League champion, while CAHN is the National Cup champion. With a squad that includes many national players and a team of quality foreign players and overseas Vietnamese, the two Vietnamese teams are expected to bring a positive image to Southeast Asian football at the continental level.
Participating in the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 opens up opportunities for Vietnamese players like Xuan Son or Quang Hai to face off against the Portuguese superstar. However, because Nam Dinh and CAHN compete in the East Asia region while Al Nassr is in the West Asia region, this encounter can only take place if the teams reach the final.
The AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 will feature 32 clubs from 24 AFC member associations. The tournament kicks off on September 16, 2025 and the final will be held on May 16, 2026. With the participation of many famous teams and international stars, the tournament promises to be an attractive playground, opening up a historic opportunity for Vietnamese players to clash with legends like Cristiano Ronaldo.
