According to a VNA reporter in Singapore, on June 20, a discussion on “Revolutionary journalism in the era of national growth seen from Singapore” was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, attracting the participation of many officials from Vietnamese representative agencies in Singapore, experts, the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Singapore and international press friends.
This is an activity to practically celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), organized by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Resident Office in Singapore and the Vietnam Television (VTV) Resident Office in Singapore with the support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore.
At the exchange, participants watched a video about the birth of Vietnam's revolutionary press; its glorious mission over the past 100 years; challenges, opportunities and tasks of innovation in the new era.
Representatives of the VNA Resident Office in Singapore and representatives of the VTV Resident Office in Singapore affirmed that the revolutionary nature of Vietnamese journalism, not only in wartime but also in peacetime, needs to continue to be nurtured and promoted, promoting transformation and adaptation in the new situation.
Representatives of the two resident agencies emphasized that the positive changes taking place at VNA and VTV in the era of national development are the clearest evidence of that revolutionary spirit. And VNA and VTV resident reporters in Singapore are making efforts to promote the pioneering, connecting, spreading, and orienting qualities of revolutionary journalism in their work in the area.

Speaking at the exchange, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh emphasized that 100 years is a sacred and proud milestone of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.
This milestone not only shows the achievements of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press over the past 100 years but is also a reminder of the sacred mission of the Revolutionary Press as it enters a new era.
According to Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh, the two local press agencies, the VNA Resident Office and the VTV Resident Office, are doing their jobs very well, from information work to meeting the requirements of the new situation to contributing to bridging the gap between Vietnam and Singapore, between the Vietnamese community in Singapore and their homeland, in line with the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore.
The Ambassador emphasized that regardless of the circumstances or era, responsibility and principles of journalism are constant. He expressed his confidence that the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press will continue to achieve many successes in the new era.
Sharing about the topic of the discussion, Professor Vu Minh Khuong - Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy - said that he himself has worked with journalists for the past few decades, he feels very interesting and very motivated because the more he works with journalists, the more he feels responsible for the country.
According to Professor Vu Minh Khuong, the team of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists is very dedicated, enlightened, knowledgeable, and always shares their passion and courage to move the country forward.
The professor affirmed his desire to share his enthusiasm and support with the Vietnamese press team in Singapore in particular and the Vietnamese press team in general to contribute to the brilliant development of the country in the era of rising in the next two decades.

As someone who always coordinates and accompanies the resident reporters of VNA and VTV in the area, Ms. Ta Thuy Lien - Head of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Singapore - was moved to share that this exchange was an opportunity for the community representative to express gratitude to the reporters of the two resident press agencies, who always reflect honestly, objectively, empathetically, and make persistent efforts to motivate those who do volunteer work in the community.
Ms. Ta Thuy Lien affirmed that the two press agencies residing in Singapore have been a sustainable bridge between the Vietnamese community in Singapore and the country as well as in the relationship between the two countries. She hopes that this spirit of companionship, listening, spreading and connecting national warmth will continue to be promoted in the future.
At the exchange, participants also heard the sharing of international press reporters, such as representatives of Malaysia's Bernama news agency and Phoenix Television (Hong Kong, China), emphasizing the professionalism, understanding, dedication and responsibility of VNA and VTV reporters in the area.
International press reporters affirmed that these are the basic factors for Vietnamese correspondents in Singapore to do a very good job of bridging communication, not only between Vietnam and Singapore but also sharing and exchanging information and views on both regional and international situations.
On this occasion, the participants of the thematic exchange also offered flowers at the statue of Uncle Ho in the Asian Civilization Museum to commemorate the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - the founder and builder of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press that has lasted through the years./.
