On the afternoon of January 10, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat visited and presented gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in Can Tho City on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat said: The year 2024 witnessed many fluctuations, difficulties and great challenges, however, the recovery and socio -economic development of our country still achieved the highest goal. Contributing to that common success are the contributions of union members and workers in Can Tho City in particular and the whole country in general - those who directly participate in production and business activities, creating positive values for the country's socio -economic development.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat also said that in the new period, following the direction of the Politburo in Resolution No. 57/NQ-TW, science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation are identified as the top important breakthroughs, the main driving force to rapidly develop modern production forces, perfect production relations, innovate national governance methods, develop the socio-economy, prevent the risk of falling behind, and bring the country to breakthrough development and prosperity in the new era - the era of national development. Therefore, in the coming time, it is necessary to strongly change working mindsets, promote innovation in production and business activities.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat believes that with the determination and sense of responsibility of union members and workers, along with innovation in production processes and application of advanced technology, it will contribute to increasing labor productivity and promoting socio-economic development.
On this occasion, leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, leaders of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, and the City Labor Federation presented 100 Tet gifts (each gift includes 1 million VND in cash and 1 Tet gift) to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. "The above gifts not only share some of the material difficulties of union members and workers during the Spring and Tet holidays, but also demonstrate the care and concern of the Party and State leaders as well as the companionship of the City's trade union organization to union members and workers", Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - President of the City Labor Federation - shared.

According to Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai, Chairwoman of the City Labor Federation, in 2024, all levels of the City's Labor Union supported nearly 40 billion VND for union members, workers and civil servants in difficult circumstances, those who had work-related accidents, serious illnesses, occupational diseases, work-related accidents, and children of workers and civil servants. Every year, on the occasion of Tet, the City's Trade Unions at all levels actively participate with heads of agencies, units, and enterprises in developing plans for salary payment, bonus payment, and other benefits for workers; promptly grasp the living and working conditions, and Tet holiday and Tet duty regimes. Along with that, proactively visit and understand the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers; regularly organize visits and give gifts to encourage workers and civil servants in difficult circumstances, contributing to bringing workers and workers in difficult circumstances a truly warm and cozy Tet with family, relatives, and friends. |
