President Luong Cuong leaves for state visit to Egypt and Angola

On the morning of August 3, President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left Hanoi for a state visit to Egypt and Angola from August 3 to 9, at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and his wife, and Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and his wife.

Accompanying President Luong Cuong and his wife were: Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; Minister of National Defense; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son; Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung.

President Luong Cuong's visit is an important foreign political event of special significance, demonstrating the commitment to create breakthroughs, elevate relations, consolidate political trust and further deepen the traditional friendship, thereby creating momentum and opening a new phase of cooperation, especially in economics and trade between Vietnam and Egypt and Angola as well as other African countries.

Egypt and Angola are two countries with important roles and positions, and are leading economies in the African region. Egypt has a very important geostrategic position, is one of the most influential countries in the Middle East, Africa and the Arab world, and is the headquarters of the Arab League.

Angola currently chairs the 54-member African Union, a major player at the United Nations and multilateral forums.

The President's visit not only affirms the loyal and steadfast relationship formed and nurtured during the period of national liberation struggle, but also provides an opportunity for Vietnam and Egypt and Angola to exchange directions and measures to bring the relationship to a new level in a more practical, effective and sustainable manner, meeting the development and international integration needs in the new situation of each country.
