Military Hospital 105 is ready to deploy electronic medical records.

On the afternoon of August 3, in Hanoi, Military Hospital 105, General Department of Logistics and Technology held a conference to evaluate the use and storage of electronic medical records instead of paper medical records, storage and transmission of medical images instead of printing films, and storage of test information instead of printing paper at the hospital.

Implementing the policy of deploying electronic medical records at hospitals according to Directive 07/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, the digital transformation plans and projects of the Ministry of National Defense , the General Department of Logistics and Engineering, the Board of Directors of Military Hospital 105 and the staff have made efforts to deploy electronic medical records and are determined to do so in the second quarter of 2025.

The goals are to improve medical record management, reform administrative procedures in medical examination and treatment; improve the quality of diagnosis, treatment planning and care; improve the quality of patient care; standardize management, apply information technology in medical examination and treatment, build a modern working environment and professional hospital.

Military Hospital 105 has piloted the implementation of electronic medical records since June 2025, achieving certain results in medical examination and treatment and management and operation of the hospital.

At the conference, Military Hospital 105 established a professional council to decide on the use and storage of electronic medical records instead of paper medical records, storage and transmission of medical images instead of printing films, and storage of test information instead of printing paper. Colonel Nguyen Van Chinh, Director of Military Hospital 105, is the Chairman of the council.

Council members reviewed and commented on the infrastructure criteria groups and hospital information system (HIS) criteria, image archiving and communication system (RIS/PACS) criteria groups, laboratory information system (LIS) criteria, non-functional criteria, information security and safety criteria, electronic medical record (EMR) criteria...

The professional council surveyed and inspected the actual information technology infrastructure, medical equipment, application software, serving the management and operation of medical examination and treatment activities at the Clinic Department; Department of Diagnostic Imaging; Department of Pathological Anatomical Testing; Department of Oncology.

The appraisal council also pointed out the remaining issues, gave suggestions on the goals and orientations for digital transformation as well as building a smart hospital at Military Hospital 105 in the coming time.

The Council conducted an evaluation vote as a basis for officially implementing electronic medical records at Military Hospital 105. After reviewing and evaluating the criteria for applying information technology, Military Hospital 105 achieved level 6 according to Circular 54/2017/TT-BYT.

In conclusion, Colonel Nguyen Van Chinh, Chairman of the Council and members of the Council unanimously approved the electronic medical record appraisal file of Military Hospital 105 as qualified: using and storing electronic medical records instead of paper medical records, storing and transmitting medical images instead of printing films and storing test information instead of printing paper, in accordance with the provisions of Circular No. 54/2017/TT-BYT and in accordance with the instructions of Circular No. 13/2025/TT-BYT.

The expert council has given satisfactory evaluation opinions for implementation. However, Military Hospital 105 also needs to absorb the comments and urgently complete the hospital's information technology system and records according to regulations, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment as well as patient records management.
