100% of children aged 1-5 in Ho Chi Minh City are vaccinated against measles

According to a report from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , as of October 16, the total number of measles vaccinations in the city was 220,796. Of these, children aged 1-5 years old had received 46,486 doses (100%), and children aged 6-10 years old had received 147,313 doses (99.95%).

The measles vaccination campaign has been completed 100% in the group of children aged 1-5 and reached 99.95% in the group of children aged 6-10 as planned.

Up to now, there are still 2 districts with measles vaccination rate less than 95% including Can Gio district and District 3.

The Department of Health recommends that the People's Committees of the above districts need to speed up the progress to achieve the campaign's goals in the district. At the same time, for districts that have achieved a rate of 95% or more, it is necessary to maintain updates on the situation of mobile children to avoid missing unvaccinated children in the area.

Also on October 16, Ho Chi Minh City recorded 29 cases of rash fever suspected of measles.

Of which, 12/22 districts and cities have cases of rash fever suspected of measles including: District 1 (2 cases), District 7 (2 cases), District 8 (1 case), District 11 (5 cases), District 12 (1 case), Binh Chanh District (2 cases), Binh Tan District (4 cases), Binh Thanh District (1 case), Hoc Mon District (3 cases), Tan Binh District (1 case), Tan Phu District (3 cases), Thu Duc City (4 cases).

Cumulative number of suspected measles rash fever cases

The total number of cases of suspected measles rash fever recorded to date is 1,447. Districts with high cumulative cases of suspected measles rash fever include: Binh Chanh district (302 cases), Binh Tan district (272 cases) and Thu Duc city (156 cases).
