The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a document accompanying Decision 4910/UBND-DT, adding a list of 17 projects that are allowed to sell houses to foreigners in the city. These projects are located in areas that allow foreign organizations and individuals to own, opening up new opportunities in the real estate sector.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to be responsible for announcing detailed information about these projects, and at the same time, conducting inspections and examinations of projects in areas requiring security assurance related to housing ownership by foreign organizations and individuals. If violations are detected, the Department of Construction will synthesize, report and advise the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to consider handling administrative violations in accordance with its authority and legal regulations.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also emphasized that the projects added this time all meet the conditions to allow foreigners to own houses according to regulations.
A representative of a real estate company with a project on the above list said that many foreign customers have registered to buy houses in the project for a long time, and many projects have been completed and handed over. The announcement of this list helps create a legal corridor for real estate transactions for foreigners.
According to him, granting permission for foreigners to buy houses in the short term could affect market psychology, causing real estate prices to tend to increase, because the price that foreigners accept is often 5-10% higher than that of Vietnamese people.
In addition, the legal regulations related to selling houses to foreigners have now been tightened and clarified, helping investors with procedures more conveniently than before.
Foreigners are allowed to buy houses in 17 projects.
