Cunha and Mbeumo asked coach Amorim to give Antony a second chance.

The summer of 2025 saw a major overhaul of the MU squad after the disastrous 2024/25 season. To revive the team, the board recruited two attacking stars, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

In addition, young defender Diego Leon also arrived at Old Trafford, while Marcus Rashford was pushed to Barcelona on loan with a buyout clause.

Veterans Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof left on free transfers, while the futures of others such as Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia remain in doubt.

However, according to the Daily Mail , two new recruits Cunha and Mbeumo believe that Antony deserves to be given another chance. Both share the "feeling" that the Brazilian striker is the perfect piece for coach Amorim's system.

Antony is under contract with MU until June 2027. He spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Real Betis. In Spain, Antony has made a spectacular comeback, scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists in 26 appearances.

However, it is still unclear whether Antony himself wants to stay at Old Trafford or not, as he is receiving interest from many teams.

The guarantee from his new teammates and his impressive performances last season could be the lifeline for Antony's career at the "Theatre of Dreams". The final decision now lies in the hands of coach Amorim.
