20 groups will have their health insurance paid by the state budget from July 1, 2025

(Dan Tri) - The amended Law on Health Insurance (HI) adds many cases in which HI participants are supported by the state budget to pay insurance premiums.


On November 27, at the 8th session, the 15th National Assembly passed Law No. 51/2024/QH15 amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance (referred to as the 2024 Law on Health Insurance). This Law will take effect from July 1, 2025.

The 2024 Law on Health Insurance has important amendments in Article 12 regulating subjects participating in health insurance.

Accordingly, there are up to 20 groups that have their health insurance premiums paid by the state budget as shown in the following table:

In addition to the 20 groups above whose health insurance premiums are fully paid by the state budget, there are 9 groups whose contributions are supported by the state as shown in the following table.
