The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just continued to issue telegram No. 2 to units in the aviation industry to proactively respond to storm No. 6.

According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and the Weather Warning Center (MWO), at 7:00 a.m. on October 25, the center of the storm was located at about 17.1 degrees north latitude; 118.6 degrees east longitude, in the eastern sea of the northern East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 10 (89-102 km/h), gusting to level 12. Moving westward, speed about 15 km/h.

According to forecast information in the next 24-72 hours, airports in the Central region such as: Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Phu Bai (Thua Thien-Hue), Chu Lai ( Quang Nam ), Da Nang are in the storm's affected area.

To proactively respond to storm No. 6, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam continues to request agencies and units to organize 24/7 on-duty.

Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation continues to direct aviation meteorological service providers to strengthen the work of ensuring the quality of meteorological information; continuously monitor the weather situation in the area of responsibility, update forecasts and warnings; provide timely and complete monitoring, forecasting and warning information to users.

Airports, airlines, and flight safety service providers, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, are requested to continue to strengthen coordination; closely monitor the storm's developments to have plans to adjust flight plans or change flight schedules accordingly in some localities directly affected and ensure flight safety.

The above units fully update meteorological information from relevant aviation meteorological agencies and based on the actual situation, deploy necessary response actions, minimize impacts on operations, ensure flight safety, and protect people and assets of the unit from natural disasters.

For airports located in the storm-affected area, including Dong Hoi Airport, Phu Bai International Airport, Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport, immediately deploy plans to prevent rain and storms, measures to prevent flooding, clear the flow in the airport, protect the works, vehicles and equipment at the airport, minimize damage caused by rain and storms and quickly stabilize all aviation activities to serve the needs of passengers.

The storm is not expected to be severe, however, heavy rains may cause local flooding, so airports need to have plans to raise and position equipment in the airport and passenger terminals, and regularly check the condition of equipment to have a solution to ensure that operations are not interrupted.
