Antler’s early investments in startups help the fund identify and promote emerging trends with great potential in the future. Antler identifies three trends:

  • The Shift to Vertical AI - Antler predicts a second wave of AI technology in 2024 as AI continues to mature and solutions are optimized for specific industries. Businesses will approach AI vertically, aiming for more sustainable growth, especially in the areas of communications, customer lifecycle management, and large language model (LLM) integration.
  • The rise of Industry 4.0 in Southeast Asia – while Industry 3.0 was driven by manufacturing, the technology now has the potential to drive all other sectors. The core principles of connectivity, data-driven decision making and automation are increasingly being applied to traditionally non-digital sectors such as construction, transportation and healthcare.
  • Building local solutions that can scale globally - with the global digital economy expected to reach $17.5 billion by 2025, new startups are developing products that serve local needs in Southeast Asia, while maintaining the potential for global expansion. Potentials in areas such as fintech, media, business operations.
