According to the Editor-in-Chief of Hoang Ha Culture and Arts Magazine, over the past half century, Vietnamese literature and arts have continued the source of revolutionary traditions, while constantly innovating, closely following reality, deeply reflecting thoughts, feelings and major movements of society.

Since 1975, especially since the Doi Moi period (1986), literature and art have entered a period of diverse development with many explorations of new styles and approaches. Literature not only reflects reality, but also delves into personal fate, post-war tragedies... while expressing humanistic, tolerant and patriotic values.

At the conference, writer Bui Viet Thang pointed out three prominent creative trends that have dominated contemporary literature.

Firstly, there is the tendency to re-perceive reality, with typical works such as The Sorrow of War (Bao Ninh), The Land of Many People and Many Ghosts (Nguyen Khac Truong), The Wharf Without a Husband (Duong Huong)... bringing a new perspective on war, history and people in the flow of society.

The second is the tendency to approach spirituality, arising from the rich religious life of the Vietnamese people, inspiring many writers in works such as One Hundred Years in a Flash (Vu Huy Anh), Emptiness and Color (Bui Anh Tan), Red Rain (Chu Lai)...

Third is the postmodern trend, a new movement that expands creative space thanks to the development of technology and globalization, with a nonlinear, multi-layered writing style that breaks traditional structures.

Associate Professor Dr. Do Lai Thuy believes that the postmodern trend is an inevitable step forward, forcing writers to adapt to the world and constantly renew their artistic thinking to keep up with the times. Young writers who are knowledgeable about technology and have a strong desire for creativity are contributing to shaping the future of literature.

The conference received 33 presentations and many direct comments, focusing on analyzing the development stages, achievements and limitations of Vietnamese literature and art over the past 50 years. At the same time, many solutions were also proposed to continue building and developing literature and art to become an important element in the advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity...

Through the workshop, the message of spreading the value of literature and art in contemporary life was strongly affirmed. Building an advanced literature and art with strong national identity is not only the task of artists, but also the responsibility of the whole society, contributing to the successful implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Vietnamese Culture to 2030, for a culture of sustainable development and integration.
