72 hours of sightseeing and culinary experience in Da Nang

Da Nang, the largest economic and tourist center in the Central region, is a living testament to the unique blend of cuisine, culture, nature and history. Even if you only visit for 3 days, visitors from all over the world can still fully experience the charming beauty of one of the most attractive destinations in Asia today.

“Vietnam seems to hold you forever. Once you love it, you love it forever”, the inspirational quote from the famous chef and culinary explorer Anthony Bourdain, is probably the most genuine feeling for anyone who sets foot in Da Nang, where it can be said that “every dish, every street, every look tells a story”. This land combines cuisine , culture, landscape and history to create an attractive, unique and unforgettable identity.

The 72-hour journey to explore Da Nang appears vividly and seemingly complete through the eyes of Chris Dwyer, a reporter for Channel News Asia (CNA). Da Nang is modern but still has a harmonious and close pace of life.

The luxurious InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, nestled in the heart of Son Tra Nature Reserve, surrounded by tropical forests and rich ecosystems, is one of the most spectacular resorts in Southeast Asia. This is the only resort in Vietnam that owns a separate funicular railway that allows visitors to easily move across the beach that curves in a beautiful arc.

The interesting point is that the entire project bears the bold and unique design mark of world-famous architect Bill Bensley, who skillfully combined traditional and modern elements to create a space that is both strange and familiar with the philosophy of "luxury goes hand in hand with identity".

A Da Nang food tour is not only a journey to discover the food, but also a journey through the history, lifestyle and soul of the people here. It is impossible not to mention the attraction of street food tours, accompanied by local "tourism ambassadors", who are not only knowledgeable about their hometown dishes but also enthusiastically share them with international visitors with all their pride. For example, Helen, founder of @danangcuisine, is an excellent and passionate tour guide.

When it comes to fine dining, Dwyer says that nowhere in Vietnam offers a more elevated dining experience than Maison 1888, the only Michelin-starred restaurant located at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. This is more true than ever as Christian Le Squer, the renowned chef behind the three-Michelin-starred Le Cinq in Paris, is now advising and overseeing the tasting menu.

The dishes are meticulously prepared by Florian Stein and his team of experienced chefs, not only conquering the taste buds, but also a subtle combination of classic French culinary art and contemporary Asian spirit.

Interestingly, Da Nang is also a place where tradition and contemporary vitality intersect, where every street corner and every rhythm of life is imbued with cultural values and local identity.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the night market, try bargaining for small souvenirs, or wander around the simple streets to feel the daily rhythm of the people. That is also the way the city tells its story slowly and full of life.

The Golden Bridge on giant hands at Ba Na Hills tourist area, with its surreal appeal, is a special visual highlight, where people and nature seem to blend together.

About 35 minutes drive from the center of Da Nang, Hoi An is an indispensable piece, considered as a "graceful, quiet note" in the journey to fully explore Da Nang. The alleys with colorful lanterns, the wooden bridges bearing the mark of the 17th century or the ancient villas all tell stories about a bustling, culturally diverse trading port.

In particular, Hoi An is also a "paradise" for those who love fashion with sophisticated tailoring services, reasonable prices and incredible speed, because after just one night, you can own a blazer that fits like a tailor-made shoe.

This experience is made even more moving by reporter Dwye's enthusiastic account on CNA: "Instead of going to the crowded tourist area, I stopped by a small shop called Simon the Tailor near the famous Banh Mi Queen. Less than 24 hours later, I had a tailored blazer delivered to my hotel for under $70."

From nature to people, from cuisine to architecture, from modern life to ancient memories, Da Nang offers a multi-layered travel experience, where every moment is a combination of emotions, aesthetics and depth.

72 hours in Da Nang is not simply a short trip, but 3 days of living fully with the beauty of a city that "once you love it, you love it forever", a place that always stays in the heart of anyone who has ever set foot there.
