“Al Jazeera reaffirms its firm commitment to continuing its coverage of the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the ongoing occupation of the Palestinian territories, as well as the escalating tensions in the region,” the Qatari news agency said in a statement.

Al Jazeera condemned the incident in which heavily armed Israeli soldiers raided the news agency's offices in Ramallah on September 22, stressing that the action was illegal and prevented the world from monitoring the real situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

According to Al Jazeera's West Bank bureau chief, Al-Omari, Israeli soldiers brought trucks to seize documents, equipment and property from the Ramallah office. "Al Jazeera rejects the actions and baseless allegations made by the Israeli authorities to justify these illegal raids," the news agency said.

Al Jazeera also announced that it would take legal action to protect its rights.

In May 2024, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to ban Al Jazeera from operating in Israel.

Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi said Al Jazeera is a “mouthpiece” for Hamas and the Iran-backed Hezbollah, and affirmed that Tel Aviv will continue to counter hostile media channels and ensure the safety of its military forces.

Earlier, the Israeli government announced the revocation of press credentials of Al Jazeera journalists in Israel. This move comes four months after Tel Aviv banned the channel.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Journalists Association declared Israel's actions a "violation of journalism and media work", calling on all media and journalists worldwide to stand in solidarity with Al Jazeera.

The Israeli military has repeatedly accused journalists from Qatari TV of having links to Hamas or Islamic Jihad. Al Jazeera denies all these allegations.
