After overcoming Andrey Rublev in four sets in the round of 16, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz admitted he felt some discomfort in his right shoulder during the warm-up.

However, with his courage and determination, he endured the pain to compete. Surprisingly, the injury did not seem to affect Alcaraz's performance. In fact, he had 22 aces against the Russian player, an extremely impressive number.

"I felt a little discomfort during the warm-up in my right shoulder. Then I had treatment and felt very good, very comfortable. Getting to the quarter-finals and playing my best gave me a lot of confidence. Confidence when playing better is always a positive thing," Alcaraz shared.

He also placed special emphasis on his serve, which helped him get out of difficult situations many times during the match: "After four matches, I can finally serve like today."

Alcaraz also has absolute respect for the Russian player: "Rublev is one of the most annoying players I have ever faced, with his strengths being his powerful forehand and formidable serve. He really pushes you to the limit, forcing you to move constantly from one side of the court to the other. It is very difficult to face such an opponent."

Carlos Alcaraz is on the fast track to his third consecutive Wimbledon final. His goal is to repeat his success in 2023 and 2024, when he defeated Serbian Novak Djokovic in both finals.

To reach this unprecedented milestone, Alcaraz will have to overcome many difficult challenges ahead, the next obstacle being home player Cameron Norrie in the quarterfinals on July 8.
