In mid-June 2025, Anker - a Chinese electronics company owned by Anker Innovations - announced a recall of more than one million PowerCore 10000 (A1263) backup batteries in the US market.
Last week, the company continued to recall seven more models in China due to "safety risks".
In Vietnam , representative Anker said it has proactively recalled four models of backup batteries to prevent explosions, although no damage has been recorded. The reason for the recall is due to Amprius's battery cell defect. "To ensure the interests of customers, Anker voluntarily recalls a number of backup battery models globally. Currently, there are four models on the Vietnamese market," said an Anker representative.
The 4 models of backup battery chargers recalled in Vietnam include: Anker 10,000 mAh 22.5 W (product code A1257), Anker 20,000 mAh 22.5 W with integrated USB-C cable (code A1647), Anker Zolo 20,000 mAh 30W with integrated USB-C and Lightning cable (code A1681), Anker Zolo 20,000 mAh 30W with integrated USB-C cable (code A1689).

These products are widely distributed in electronics retail stores and on e-commerce platforms in Vietnam. There is currently no specific information on the number of products that will be recalled this time.
Anker recommends that owners of the product can check the code by looking at the specifications on the bottom or side, then verify the serial number or submit proof of purchase from an authorized retailer to the provided website.
The company will receive the information, proactively contact and process. The time starts from June 27 until the recall is completed.
Anker said it will exchange the affected power bank for a free replacement battery of the same value or a gift certificate for the affected products sold through online and offline channels in Vietnam.
In Vietnam, Anker is a well-known accessory brand, including chargers, power banks, charging cables and charging ports, smart home appliances, bluetooth headphones and speakers.
Not only Anker, other companies such as Baseus, Aukey, Xiaomi, Ugreen and Romoss also simultaneously recalled many models of backup batteries in the Chinese market for the same reason. However, up to now, Anker is the only company that has officially announced a product recall in Vietnam.
