Argentina imports first batch of telecommunications products produced by Vietnamese enterprises

The first batch of telecommunications goods exported by Viettel Group to Argentina has been placed in a bonded warehouse at the port of Buenos Aires.

Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Ngo Minh Nguyet, Head of the Vietnamese Trade Office in Argentina Ngo Manh Khoi, Chairman of Derqui Telecommunications Company (CTD), Rodolfo Caffaro Kramer and Ms. Sabrina Akerman, Director of Nip Cargo SRL transportation service company.

Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet introduced the potential for economic development and expansion of cooperation in all fields between Vietnam and Argentina, especially since Vietnam is currently Argentina's 6th largest trading partner. The two countries are maintaining and continuing to develop trade turnover. 90% of Vietnam's imported goods from Argentina are agricultural products.

Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet introduced the potential for economic development and expansion of cooperation in all fields between Vietnam and Argentina.

Meanwhile, about 70% of Vietnamese goods exported to Argentina are phones and electronic components of multinational corporations with manufacturing and assembly plants in Vietnam, in addition to garments, footwear and wood products.

Vietnam still has great potential to export high-tech products produced by domestic companies to Argentina and South American countries while the demand for importing these products from South American countries is very large.

Therefore, one of the top priorities of the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina is to support domestic enterprises, especially those with capacity and reputation in the field of manufacturing high value-added goods and technological equipment, to expand export markets and increase their presence in the South American region.

Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet said that Vietnam's Viettel Group is currently one of the prestigious telecommunications groups in Asia as well as in many countries around the world , including Latin America. She also expressed her hope that in addition to Viettel's investment in the telecommunications sector in Peru, the products manufactured by the group will be available in all member countries of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) and other Latin American countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Equador and Bolivia.

Chairman of CTD Caffaro Kramer, the importer of the telecommunications equipment shipment including fiber optic cables and modems manufactured by Viettel Group, expressed confidence in the potential for expanding cooperation between Argentina and Vietnam in the field of information technology in the future.

Mr. Caffaro Kramer, who is also President of the Mercosur-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce, highly appreciated the significance of the event that telecommunications technology products manufactured by Vietnam entered the Argentine market for the first time, and considered this an opportunity for these Vietnamese products to access the Mercosur market, including Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay.

One of the top priorities of the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina is to support domestic businesses, especially capable and reputable ones.

In an interview with reporters, Mr. Ngo Manh Khoi emphasized that after a period of support and connection efforts from the Embassy and the Trade Office of Vietnam in Argentina, the first import order between CTD and Viettel Equipment Manufacturing Corporation including optical cables, accessories and telecommunications infrastructure has arrived in Argentina.

Mr. Ngo Manh Khoi affirmed that one of the most important tasks of the Vietnam Trade Office abroad assigned by the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade is to diversify and expand export markets for Vietnamese goods to new markets to cope with unpredictable developments in global trade in recent times.

“This result is a great effort of the two enterprises as well as the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina and the Trade Office. This is the first step and will open up new prospects for trade exchange opportunities in general and cooperation in the telecommunications sector in particular between Vietnam and Argentina in the coming time,” said Mr. Ngo Manh Khoi.
