Al Nassr once wanted Martinelli. |
According to The Athletic , Arsenal have informed clubs interested in Martinelli, including Al Nassr, of the decision. Last month, Mundo Deportivo reported that Al Nassr had made an €85m (£73m) bid for Martinelli.
Martinelli is highly regarded by Al Nassr for his pace, dribbling ability and versatility on both wings. Although his form in the 2024/25 season has been inconsistent (10 goals and 6 assists in 51 games), Martinelli is still considered one of the most promising wingers in the Premier League.
At 24, he has all the attributes Al Nassr are looking for to support Cristiano Ronaldo, who has just signed a new contract with the SPL's third-placed side. However, Arsenal have no intention of parting ways with Martinelli.
The London club have even begun to consider extending and improving the terms of the Brazilian's contract in a bid to keep him long-term. The decision to keep Martinelli also reflects Arsenal's transfer strategy.
With the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon for €85 million, some have suggested that Arsenal may consider selling Martinelli to reinvest. However, the fact that Arsenal's board is keeping Martinelli shows that the Gunners want to stabilize their current squad rather than bring in a new winger.
