Recently, AFF has planned to change the time of organizing ASEAN Cup 2024. Accordingly, to help Southeast Asian clubs compete well in Cup C1, Cup C2 and Cup C3 Asia, AFF plans to postpone the start date of ASEAN Cup 2024 from November 23 to December 9. The tournament will also postpone the end date from December 21, 2024 to January 5, 2025.
Therefore, the Vietnam National Team will also have adjustments to the training plan for the ASEAN Cup 2024. Instead of training and playing friendly matches during the FIFA Days in November (November 10-18), coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will train from November 21.
During the FIFA Days in November, the Vietnam National Team will not compete and make way for 2 rounds of the V-League 2024/2025 so that clubs can avoid having to compete at a high frequency in the following period.
Although not playing in the FIFA Days series in November, the Vietnam National Team will still have 4 other friendly matches in the FIFA Days series in September and October, so coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will basically still have the best preparation for the ASEAN Cup 2024 and the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers. In addition, in the 18 days of training before the ASEAN Cup 2024, the Vietnam National Team is expected to have international friendly matches.
