Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris' campaign raised $55 million in two fundraising events over the weekend. An unnamed campaign official told reporters on September 29 that Harris raised $27 million at a fundraising event at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on September 28. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave a speech at the event urging voters to support Vice President Harris in the upcoming election. The event also featured singer Andra Day. Harris later raised another $28 million at an event in downtown Los Angeles. Singers Alanis Morissette and Halle Bailey performed at the event. Also present at the event were famous artists including Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Demi Lovato, Jessica Alba, Lily Tomlin and Stevie Wonder. At the events, Vice President Harris focused on her economic policies. Harris and the Democratic presidential campaign raised $361 million in August, giving her a clear cash advantage over Republican Donald Trump. Trump raised $130 million in the same month. With just over a month to go until the November 5 presidential election, a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted earlier this month showed Harris leading Trump 47%-40%, while other polls showed a narrower margin./.
