Harris and Trump are locked in a fierce battle in national polls.

A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll shows that US Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald Trump by 3% nationwide.


Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump by 46% to 43% in the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll released on October 22. According to Reuters, Democratic candidate Harris' lead has not changed from a survey conducted last week, in which Harris won 45% support compared to Trump's 42%.

The poll found that immigration, the economy and threats to democracy were top of mind for potential voters. About 70% of registered voters said the cost of living was heading in the wrong direction, while 60% said the economy was doing badly.

About 65% of registered voters also said immigration policy is not on the right track. Immigration is the top issue voters want the president-elect to focus on in his first 100 days, with 35% saying it is.

Former President Trump leads on immigration and the economy, 48% to 35% and 46% to 38%, respectively, over Ms. Harris. The current Vice President leads on threats to democracy as well as health care and abortion, 42% to 35%.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted from October 15 to 21 with 4,129 registered voters, including 3,481 registered voters. The margin of error is 2%. Recent Reuters/Ipsos polls have shown Harris leading Trump within the margin of error.

In another poll released by the Washington Post-Schar School (USA) on October 21, Vice President Harris leads Mr. Trump in the states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Meanwhile, the former president is gaining advantages in Arizona and North Carolina. The two candidates have an equal support rate of 48% in Nevada.

According to The Hill/ Decision Desk HQ, Ms. Harris is leading Trump by 1.5 points based on a combination of polls.
