Head of Training Department Nguyen Anh Tuan said that this year, Hanoi National University continues to innovate enrollment to attract excellent candidates, expand enrollment scale in Hoa Lac, continue to organize capacity assessment exams and allocate maximum quota for this method.

Hanoi National University also continues to use graduation exam scores and some other methods such as considering based on international certificates SAT, ACT, A-Level; results of the capacity assessment test of Ho Chi Minh City National University; considering a combination of international foreign language certificates with graduation exam scores.

Mr. Pham Nhu Hai, Vice Principal of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, wants to add an interview format to the admission process, after considering the graduation exam scores or the candidate's ability assessment scores. He believes that this is suitable for the characteristics of long-term training.

Nguyen Xuan Long, the principal of the University of Foreign Languages, said that it is possible to use the VSTEP foreign language certificate for admission throughout the entire Hanoi National University. According to him, this is a highly feasible method because the test is conducted on a computer, with questions created by the Ministry of Education and Training .

Currently, according to the official university admission regulations of Hanoi National University, recognized English certificates include IELTS and TOEFL iBT, used for combined admission. The B2 certificate (VSTEP 3-5) issued by the University of Foreign Languages is being piloted for foreign language majors at this school.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chu Duc Trinh, Principal of the University of Technology, supports raising the admission quota by the score of the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University, and even proposes that under certain conditions, 100% of the quota can be reserved for this method.

Mr. Trinh shared that from practice, the quality of graduates is not high, most of them do not have enough professional capacity. Therefore, he believes that it is necessary to focus on stable and sustainable recruitment methods to recruit candidates with good input quality.

Hanoi National University said it would consider these proposals.

Regarding enrollment targets, although it is determined to increase by about 3,000 compared to last year, Hanoi National University has not yet assigned specific targets to each school. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Deputy Director of Hanoi National University, requested that schools proactively propose targets based on quality assurance. The Training Department will base on the data of students graduating on time from each school for approval.

Hanoi National University has 12 schools and faculties that recruit full-time university students. Last year, Hanoi National University recruited nearly 15,000 students with 143 majors and training programs in the fields of natural sciences, social sciences, economics - management, law, teacher training and health, including 6 new majors.
