On March 20, speaking with reporters, a leader of the People's Committee of Ta Thanh Oai commune (Thanh Tri district, Hanoi ) said that the information appearing on social networks about the elevator falling in Dai Thanh apartment building was untrue.
Previously, social networks posted information with an article with the content: "The elevator of the CT8 building of Dai Thanh apartment building fell and there were people trapped inside, including children and women. The situation is very serious...".

"I confirm that there was no case of an elevator falling off as social media claimed, there was only one case of an elevator getting stuck on the afternoon of March 19.
At that time, there were about 20 people including children and the elderly in the elevator, but after about 5 minutes, the Management Board opened the elevator door and brought everyone out," said a representative of the People's Committee of Ta Thanh Oai commune.
Regarding the information about the gathering of people on the evening of March 19, the above representative provided that the authorities are working with the management board of Dai Thanh apartment building about the incident where people went down to the lobby of the apartment building to protest the elevator's continuous breakdown, affecting people's lives.
According to him, there are currently 3 damaged elevators including CT8A, CT8B and CT8C. Every time they are broken, the Management Board informs people to pay for the elevator repair, making people upset, the repair is delayed and affects people's lives.
