Nguyen Xien Street is a route of Ring Road 3, a vital route of Hanoi . This route is famous for its busyness, concentration of business activities and heavy traffic, especially during rush hour.
However, for about a month now, a spontaneous landfill has "sprouted" right next to the sidewalk of Nguyen Xien Street. Garbage encroaches on the road, from household waste to construction waste, rags, sofas... Every time it rains, garbage mixed with rainwater creates a place full of flies, mosquitoes... causing loss of urban beauty, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.
Reporters from the Vietnam Law Newspaper recorded that on the afternoon of June 27, an open-air landfill emitted a strong stench from the area from alley 300 Nguyen Xien Street, stretching 100m towards the intersection of Nguyen Xien - Chu Van An Avenue.
Ms. Nguyen Thi T., a vendor in the area, said: "For about a month now, I have seen more and more trash here. During the day when I sell here, I don't see anyone throwing trash away, but the next day I see more trash. This roadside has become a garbage dump without me knowing."
It is worth mentioning that the road that the reporter recorded has repeatedly become a spontaneous garbage dump. This has lasted from 2023 until now. The road was cleaned up for a while and then continued to become a spontaneous garbage collection point.
